Open Your Mind, Then Close It

One of the most important factors in determining whether or not you will accomplish your life goals is focus. The world we live in today is one that is lived at a frantic pace. We are constantly looking for ways to make things go faster, including ourselves. This means it is getting harder and harder to focus on what you want with so many distractions whirring and whizzing all around you.

Now that does not mean that you shouldn't have an open mind and keep your eyes peeled for new opportunities for advancement and success. You should always look for new opportunities and be open to the idea that you may have to change your plans up from time to time. But once you lock onto an opportunity that you feel will carry you to the next level, it is time to shut the door to your mind and put blinders on your eyes.

One reason so many people fail at meeting their goals is the fact they become distracted by the new opportunities that pop up along the way. They don't learn to discern between opportunities that will benefit them and push them closer to their ultimate goal, and ones that are simply a waste of time and do nothing but derail your plans. If you are working on writing a great novel, the last thing you want to do is open up a restaurant. That would have nothing to do with your goal and would only distract you and eventually pull you away from that dream completely.

Many individuals will come your way and put all kinds of deals and offers in front of you. Some will even try to tear you down as a form of distraction. Don't allow these distractions to get a foot hold in your mind and thoughts. Shrug off the negativity and keep your mind dedicated to the end result of all your work. Having a singular vision for what you want to do and keeping your eyes on the prize are the only ways to turn dreams into realities.
